Searching UKPOL
There is a search box on every page of this web-site but this is generally only useful for very precise queries, given the volume of pages which are on UKPOL (currently over 90,000).
For speeches by political figures, these are listed by surname and then by chronological order for each individual. It’s also possible to search by subject.
However, for more complex queries, it is best to use Google’s own search facility at http://www.google.com/. Other search engines tend to have similar search functions, although they may vary slightly.
For example, to find a speech made by a politician in 2023 on the environment, type this into the Google search box:
site:ukpol.co.uk “environment” “2023”
If your search results contain types of information you don’t require, such as press releases, then type:
site:ukpol.co.uk “environment” “2023” -“press release”
