NEWS STORY : World Leaders Call for Calm as Polish Territory Attacked

STORY

A number of world leaders have called for calm following the murder of two Polish citizens after a missile hit territory belonging to the country. Jens Stoltenberg, the Secretary General of NATO, said that “the Allies are consulting” but that “it’s important that all facts are established”. Adrienne Watson, the spokesperson for the United States National Security Council said “we are working with the Polish Government to gather more information”. James Cleverly, the British Foreign Secretary, said we “are in contact with our Polish friends and NATO allies” and would give a fuller statement when more information was available.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, said “I want to tell all our Polish brothers and sisters now… Ukraine will always support you! Terror will not break free people! Victory is possible when there is no fear! We don’t have it, neither do you.” Russia confirmed that they had fired missiles into Ukraine but denied that they had deliberately attacked a NATO country.
