To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what definition his Department uses of an adequate amount of weekly physical activity.

The UK Chief Medical Officers’ (CMOs) guidelines for physical activity for adults is to be active daily, up to at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity activity a week. Children and young people should be active for at least 60 minutes and up to several hours every day of moderate to vigorous intensity physical activity. The guidelines were published in July 2011.
