NEWS STORY : Bank of England Increases Interest Rates to 3%

STORY

The Bank of England has increased interest rates from 2.25% to 3%, the largest increase since 1989 with the exception of the almost immediately reversed increase in 1992. The central bank said that an increase was necessary to bring inflation, currently at around 10%, back down to the Government’s target of 2%.
