BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. D. G. West, aged 45, is the son of a miner and is a solicitor. He took a first prize in law at Cardiff College. He has been a member of the Abercarn (Mon.) Urban District Council, and was elected to the Monmouthshire County Council in 1938. He served during the last war with the R.A.F. and was elected to Parliament for Pontypool at a by-election in 1946.
