BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. W. M. F. Vane, chartered surveyor and land agent, aged 40, was educated at Charterhouse and Trinity College, Cambridge. Commissioned in The Durham Light Infantry, 1928, and serving thiough the war, he attained the rank of lieutenant – colonel in 1943. He is a landowner at Penrith and Deputy Lieutenant of the county.
