BIOGRAPHY :

Sir George Jeffreys has represented the division since 1941. Aged 71, he was educated at Eton and Sandhurst and saw 41 years’ service in the Army. He was mentioned in dispatches nine times in the first war, and holds many foreign decorations. He is Deputy Lieutenant and a county alderman of Hampshire, and has been a member of the county council since 1926; is chairman of the Hampshire T.A. Association.
