Mr. C. A. Macfarlane studied at Balliol College, Oxford, and is aged 41. He is a member of a West Hartlepool firm of forwarding agents, and a member of the Tees and Hartlepool branch of the National Docks Labour Board and of Hartlepool Dock Advisory Committee. During the war he served in the Army and reached the rank of major.
