BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. G. H. Oliver, K.C., has sat for the division since 1922, with the exception of the period 1931-35. From 1945 to 1947 he was Undersecretary to the Home Office. For some years he was an engineer in motor-car works in Derby and served for some years on the Derby Town Council. Called to the Bar in 1927, he took silk in 1949.
