BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. Aidan Crawley, who won the first Labour victory in the division in 1945, was formerly a journalist and producer of educational films, and is married to Virginia Cowles, the American authoress. He was for a time Parliamentary private secretary to the Secretary of State for the Colonies, and was a delegate to the Council of Europe at Strasbourg. Born in 1908, he was educated at Harrow and Trinity College, Oxford, and has played cricket for Harrow, Oxford University and Kent.
