BIOGRAPHY :

Lt.-Col. R. K. Brown, a barrister practising on the Midland Circuit, was born in Calcutta in 1909. He was educated at Kingswood School, Bath, and Trinity Hall, Cambridge, and gained distinction both in legal scholarships and athletics. He was British hurdles champion in 1934. During the war he served with the 53rd Infantry Division and at Field-Marshal Montgomery’s headquarters. President of the Birmingham Liberal organization, he contested Stourbridge in 1945.
