BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. L. Wilkes is a barrister on the North Eastern Circuit and was born in 1914. He was educated at Newcastle Royal Grammar School and Balliol College, Oxford, where he was chairman of the University Labour Club in 1937. In the war he saw service with the Greek rebels operating behind the German lines, and rose to the rank of major.
