Mr. J. R. Bevins, who was born in 1908, is engaged in insurance business. He has been on the Liverpool City Council since 1935, originally as a Labour member but changing over to the Conservative Party in 1938. He served with the R.A. and the R.A.S.C. in the last war, being demobilized with the rank of major.
