BIOGRAPHY :

Miss A. Leevers, a 36-year-old teacher, was educated at Tollington High School, Muswell Hill, and London University, where she gained an English honours degree. She is a tutor in social studies and English at Barnet further education centre. From 1944-46 she was a Red Cross relief worker in Italy and Austria, and later worked in displaced persons camps in Vienna. In 1949 she won the senior Walter Hines scholarship and toured the United States.
