BIOGRAPHY :

Capt. E. C. Cobb was M.P. for Preston, 1936-45, and transferred to Eton and Slough at the last election, when he was defeated by Mr. Benn Levy. Born in 1891 and educated at St. Paul’s School, London, and Sandhurst, he joined The Northamptonshire Regiment in 1911 and saw active service in the 1914-18 war, being mentioned in dispatches and awarded the D.S.O. While a member he was Parliamentary private secretary to several Ministers.
