Mr. A. Fenner Brockway, journalist and politician, was formerly secretary and chairman of the t *? He represented fast Leyton from 1929 t0 1931. Among his unsuccessful contests was °ne against Mr. Churchill ‘” me Abbey Division of Westminster in 1924. Uunng the first world ™ar he served terms of imprisonment for refusing to serve in the Forces, and he has always taken a strong line for peace and international friendship.
