Mr. G. A. Thornton (36) learned his politics in the Army. While acting as education officer for his battery, he was asked to arrange a mock election to arouse interest among the men for the 1945 General Election. In studying the policies of all parties, he concluded he was a Liberal. A school teacher, Mr. Thornton is an officer in the Army Cadet Force.
