BIOGRAPHY :
Mr. D. Sandys, a son-in-law of Mr. Churchill, sat for Norwood from 1935 to 1945, and has been Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Supply, Minister of Works, and chairman of the War Cabinet commit- jj tee for defence against German V – weapons. Born in 1908, the son of a §g former M.P. for Wells, he was educated at Eton and Oxford and entered the diplomatic service. He was one of the Expeditionary Force to Norway in 1940, and the next year, after being disabled, he became Finance Member of the Army Council and later chairman of the Inter-governmental Council for Empire Prisoners of War.
