BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. W. F. Hawkins, head master of Gibbons Secondary School, Willesden, since 1948, was born in Bethnal Green in 1906. An L.C.C. teacher in Shadwell and Shoreditch, he became senior master at Croydon Polytechnic and head master of Newcastle Technical School. He has b;en a member of Leyton Borough Council since 1935, and of Essex County Council since 1946.
