BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. E. Kinghorn had unsuccessfully contested Hexham in 1935 against Col. D. Clifton Brown (the present Speaker) before becoming M.P. for Yarmouth in 1945. Formerly a languages master and a lecturer on economics, he served as an intelligence officer with the R.A.F. in the war, later was attached to Gen. Eisenhower’s headquarters staff, and subsequently was a staff officer on the Control Commission in Germany. He was born in 1907, and educated at Basle, Lille, and Leeds University.
