Mr. A. M. Watson, a member of Stockport Town Council since 1945, is 51, and is general secretary of the Lancashire Community Council and N.W. Regional Officer of the National Council of Social Service. He has been closely associated with social service and youth movements, and is a member of the Royal Institute of International Affairs. He is a former president of Stalybridge and Hyde Labour Party.
