BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. A. E. Whitcher is 41 and a city councillor in Bath, where he is chairman of the housing committee. Born in Highcliffe, Hampshire, he went to Bath in 1933, and controls a motor tyres and spares business. Treasurer of the Somerset Diocesan Mission to the Deaf and Dumb, he has raised many thousands of pounds for this work, and is active in other social service movements.
