BIOGRAPHY :

Maj. Peter Roberts was elected member for the Ecclesall division of Sheffield in 1945, following in the footsteps of his father, Sir Samuel Roberts, and his grandfather. He was born in 1912 and educated at Harrow and Cambridge. Called to the Bar in 1935, he practised until 1939, when he joined the Cold-stream Guards and served througho?t the war. Engaged in industry in the Sheffield district, he is interested in industrial problems, especially in the coal industry, and he has been joint secretary of the Con-servatiye Parliamentary Fuel and Power Committee.
