BIOGRAPHY :
Mr. J. S. Maclay, who is 45, entered Parliament in 19?0 as member for the former Montrose Burghs constituency, and retained the seat at the 1945 election. He was Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Production in 1945. He is the Leader of the National Liberal Party in the House of Commons. A son of the first Baron Maclay, he is interested in shipping and led the British Merchant Shipping Mission to Washington during the war. He was educated at Winchester and Trinity College, Cambridge.
