Mrs. I. Candy, who is 26, won a scholarship to Bournemouth High School, and after service in the war as a full-time A.R.P. worker took the degree of Bachelor of Science in economics at Southampton University. She is a founder member of Southampton Labour League of Youth and an educational lecturer. Her husband was her agent in the election.
