BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. A. E. Pain was born in Sunderland 39 years ago and was educated at Bede Collegiate School and Sunderland Technical College for Civil Engineering. Later he entered accountancy and is now a staff supervisor with an assurance company. He served in the R.A.F. during the war, but was invalided out. He was elected to Newcastle City Council in 1946 and has taken an active part in trade union work.
