BIOGRAPHY :
Mr. J. Diamond is 42, and a London accountant. Born in Leeds and educated at Leeds Grammar School, he won Blackley from the Conservatives in 1945. Formerly Parliamentary private secretary to the Minister of Works, he was appointed to the Speaker’s panel of chairmen, and presided over the Standing Committees which dealt with the Gas Bill and Licensing Bill. He went to Burma with the Parliamentary delegation recently.
