ELECTORAL STATUS: Elected as MP

BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. A. J. Irvine first contested Kincardine as a Liberal, and in 1943 joined the Labour Party, fighting Twickenham and later South Aberdeen without success. In 1945 he succeeded at Edge Hill. An M.A. of Edinburgh, he also took an Oxford degree and was president of the Union. He is son of the late Mr. J. M. Irvine, K.C.
