Mr. A. W. Briggs is 49 and a Londoner by birth. For some years a member of Brighton Town Council he was chairman of Brighton and Hove Labour Party, 1946-48, and is now vice-chairman. He is a member of Brighton and Lewes Hospital Management Committee.
