BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. H. W. Bowden, aged 44, is the retiring member for the former South Leicester division, which he won in 1945. He lives in Leicester, and in 1938 was elected to the Leicester City Council, but resigned on his election to Parliament. He was in the R.A.F. during the war, and was commissioned in administrative duties. He was appointed an assistant Whip in February, 1949.
