BIOGRAPHY :
Mr. W. McN. Snadden won Kinross and Western in 1939 in a by-election from the Duchess of Atholl, who resigned from the Conservative Party and stood as an Independent. A son of the manse, he served in the 1914-18 war and from 1939-40 was Parliam?ntary private secretary to the Under-Secretary for Scotland. An extensive farmer and stock breeder in Perthshire, he has been a champion of the rights of Scottish agriculture.
