BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. J. Ranger, who won the seat at the last election, twice fought Mr. Churchill, unsuccessfully, in the Epping division. Born in 1889, he entered the Labour movement through the South West Ham Independent Labour Party in 1908. He is a company secretary, advising on industrial welfare problems. He has been a member of the Co-operative movement since 1915. He is a strong supporter of the international control of atomic energy.
