Miss E. M. Marchant was born at Mansfield, Notts, in 1888, and was educated at Mansfield and Royal Holloway College. After teaching at Westcliff-on-Sea, Darlington, and Mansfield, she was head mistress of Horsham High School for Girls for 28 years, retiring last year.
