BIOGRAPHY :
Mr. R. Pestell was for 14 years a probation officer in London, and a founder member of the Marriage Guidance Council. He has lectured extensively on marriage and family problems. Born in 1910, he studied economics and social science in the University of London and later became leader of the Stoke Newington borough council and mayor of the borough, and also a member of the London County Council.
