BIOGRAPHY :
Mr. L. D. Gammans won Hornsey at a by-election in 1941. Born in 1895, he was for many years in the Colonial service, from which he retired in 1934. He has worked in Malaya and Tokyo, and speaks Japanese. He has travelled extensively in India, Europe, and America studying agricultural conditions, and has served on British delegations to the West Indies and Sarawak.
