BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. P. Asterley Jones is a solicitor who practised in Watford and St. Albans before being elected in 1945 as Hitchin’s first Labour M.P. Born in 1914, he was educated at Tonbridge and London University, and was elected to St. Albans City Council at 26. He has been secretary of St. Albans Labour Party and Herts Labour Federation.
