Mr. A. E, G. Hawkins, a farmer, contested Cirencestei and Tewkesbury in 1945. Aged 41, he went to a private school and the London School of Economics. A Fabian, he is an officer of the British Socialist Agricultural Society ; on the research committee of the Rural Reconstruction Association ; and a member of the Agricultural Economics Society.
