Mr. W. Hannan, former insurance agent and Glasgow town councillor, was elected in 1945. He is a native of Glasgow, lives in the constituency, and has been a Lord Commissioner of the Treasury since 1946. He was a member of Glasgow City Council, and his special interests have been national insurance, housing, food, and fuel and power. He is 44.
