Mr. J. H. McKie is a member of one of the t oldest families in Gallo-way, who received land from King Robert the Bruce more than 600 years ago. His grandfather and great grandfather both represented the constituency, and Mr. McKie has held it since 1931. Born in 1898, he was educated at Harrow and Oxford. He is a landowner and a bachelor.
