BIOGRAPHY :

Maj. I. Spence, K.C., a barrister, aged 47 and 6ft. 7in. tall, was in the last great diamond rush in South Africa, and afterwards worked a passage to Canada as a cabin steward and hitch-hiked across the Dominion. He served on Air Marshal Cqnyngham’s staff in the Western Desert during the war, and after demobilization took silk. He practises in London.
