Dr. Edith Summerskill was appointed Jjj Parliamentary Secretary W to the Ministry of Food I in 1945 and is a Privy §J’ Councillor. Born in l”01, she became a doctor in 1924, and was in practice until 1945. khe is married to a doctor, and has two children. From 1932 to 1938, she served on the Middlesex County Council, and was elected to Parliament in 1938.
