BIOGRAPHY :
Mr. Ernest Davies is a journalist and won Enfield from the Conservatives in 1945 with a majority of 11,690. Forty-five years of age, he is a son of Alderman A. Emil Davies, of the L.C.C. He was educated at Wycliffe College, Gloucester, and in 1922 went to the United States of America to obtain newspaper work. He returned to Britain in 1924. During the last Parliament he was Parliamentary private secretary to Mr. McNeil, th? Minister of State. He took a prominent part in debates on road and rail transport.
