BIOGRAPHY :
Mr. S. Wingfield Digby, aged 39, has represented West Dorset for the last eight and a half years, and was appointed a Conservative Whip in 1948. A barrister, he served in the Army throughout the war and rose to the rank of major. He was one of the originators of the Design for Freedom movement and its treasurer, and was a member of the Tory Reform Committee from its formation until he became a Whip.
