BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. A. P. L. Barber, son of the secretary-director of a Doncaster works, is 29. He went to France in 1939 with a Doncaster Territorial unit and was at Dunkirk. Later, he was a pilot in the R.A.F. and was captured by the Germans. He was mentioned in dispatches for his part in escapes from the prison camp, and while a prisoner took a law degree with first-class honours through the International Red Cross. Awarded a State grant to Oxford and an Inner Temple scholarship, he is practising as a barrister.
