BIOGRAPHY :

Mrs. A. L. G. Dower, was unsuccessful in the Wentworth Division in the 1945 election. Born in 1907. she served during the war on the A.T.S., and was education staff officer in the Middle East. She provided employment for ex-service women by starting a toy factory. She is the wife of Col. A. Dower, M.P. for Penrith and Cockermouth in the last Parliament.
