BIOGRAPHY :
Mr. C. Kenyon, a farmer near Rossendale, was born in 1896 and made his way from an elementary school to Manchester University. For many years a member of Rawtenstall Town Council, he was mayor from 1938 to 1942 and chairman of the education committee for 12 years. For 10 years he was in charge of Hollinwood (Oldham) Baptist Church and is a well-known local preacher.
