BIOGRAPHY :

Miss Pat Hornsby-Smith became Conservative candidate for th; division in 1946. Aged 35, she was secretary to the Earl of Selborne when he was Minister for Economic Warfare from 1941 to 1945. Beginning her political career in the old Junior Imperial League, she later took an active part in the Young Conservative movement and has been prominent in other sections of the Conservative organization.
