BIOGRAPHY :
Mr. S. G. Howard, born in 1896Jand educated at Harrow and Oxford, served as a flying officer in the 1914-18 war and later was called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn. He was appointed Recorder of Bury St. Edmunds in 1943 and of Ipswich in 1947, and was a senior counsel to the Treasury. Appointed High Sheriff of the county in 1945 and chairman of the county quarter sessions in 1947, he farms in Cambridgeshire.
