BIOGRAPHY :

Mr. C. J. Simmons was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Pensions in 1949, and before that was a Lord Commissioner of the Treasury. He was elected to Parliament in 1945 for the West Birmingham division, and in the 1929-31 Parliament represented Erdington. From 1921 to 1945 he served on the Birmingham City Council. He fought in the 1914-18 war, and is a political lecturer, organizer, and journalist.
