Mr. L. W. Malby was born in Norfolk in 1892, went to Bradford with his parents, and entered the textile trade and became an export manager, and now lives in the Bishop Auckland constituency and represents a firm of cattle manufacturers. He is a member of the Gladstone Liberal Club, Bradford, and was a founder member of the West Riding branch of the Institute of Export.
